Why we should discuss racism?

Recent events have shown that race is not a topic to be swept under the carpet any longer. Communities around the world have taken to social media and the streets to protest the unlawful, unjust  death of George Floyd who was cavalierly murdered in the street of Minnesota, in the United State. 2020 is the time to change the narrative of racism, and it is important to realize the factors at play. The United States and Great Britain has a deep history of racism and oppression, and while some progress has been made, explicit and implicit racism still exist. In order to tackle racism, we all should turn our backs together on racism, regardless of your colour of skin, demography, geography or background.

Individuals around the world are ready to participate in conversation, protest, advocacy, movement in order to revolutionise the concept of racism. When it comes to tackling the issue of racial equity, we need to understand, be aware and informed of the fundamental issues related to it. Engaging in purposeful dialogue on race helps to be better equipped in fighting injustices. Implementation of constant change is needed in creating the equality that disadvantaged and marginalized communities deserved.  And by engaging in educative conversations such as these steps identified below will help change the narrative of racism.
